Snap has confirmed what happens to Memories over its 5 GB limit. Starting January 2027, Memories older than one year that are not part of your oldest 5 GB will be archived. Archived Memories show up as thumbnails, but you cannot open, edit, or share them unless you pay for a Snapchat storage plan. Your own photos and videos, locked behind a subscription paywall.
